FRANK, JR. BREAKING NEWS

MAY 12, 2008

The Heckenast Racing team invaded the Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois and the Kamp Motor Speedway in Boswell, Indiana on Friday and Saturday, May 9-10. At Farmer City on Friday night, Frank Heckenast, Jr. timed in tenth fastest in qualifying and later ran second in his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the third row for the $1,000 to win A-Main, Frankie was able to move up one position to finish fifth behind winner Steve Sheppard, Jr., Wes Steidinger, Dennis Erb, and Ryan Unzicker.

The dirt-slinging action quickly turned to the Hoosier State on Saturday for a $1,200 to win show at Kamp. Frankie laid down the fastest lap in qualifying and later won his heat race from the fourth starting spot. After leading the field to green in the A-Main, the Orland Park, Illinois driver made contact with the wall, which led to a disappointing fourteenth place performance. MAY 5, 2008

After yet another Freeport WDRL rain-out, the #99jr team trekked south to the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky on May 2-3 for the annual '99 Extravaganza' weekend. Following a washout of the $9,999 to win show on Friday, May 2, a similar event took place on Saturday at KLMS. Frank Heckenast, Jr. ran sixth in his heat race and fourth in his B-Main, but unfortunately those finishes were not quite good enough to transfer him into the 50-lap main event. APRIL 28, 2008

The Heckenast Racing team, with Frank Heckenast, Jr. behind the wheel of their #99jr MasterSbilt entry, invaded the Kamp Motor Speedway in Boswell, Indiana on Saturday night, April 26. The Northern Allstars Late Model Series (NALMS) sanctioned a $2,000 to win show last Saturday at Kamp. Frankie ran third in his heat race and later rolled off from the inside of the fourth row for the 30-lap main event. The Orland Park, Illinois hotshoe then passed a trio of cars in the 30-lapper to record a strong fourth place performance behind winner Jason Feger, Dennis Erb, and Steve Sheppard, Jr. You can view full results from this race online at www.kampmotorspeedway.com!

APRIL 21, 2008

Frank Heckenast, Jr. and his #99jr team had four Dirt Late Model races on their radar last week, but due to Mother Nature, only two were placed into the record books. Frank's week kicked off last Wednesday, April 16 at the Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa. After finishing fourth in his heat race to advance to the $5,000 to win PolyDome World Dirt Racing League (WDRL) Series-sanctioned feature event, the young Orland Park, Illinois driver put on a show in his first-ever visit to the big 1/2-mile oval. He started ninth in the 40-lap main event and worked his way up to the fourth spot to finish behind winner Darren Miller, Brian Birkhofer, and Jimmy Mars.

Following a couple of rain-outs at the Tri-City (IL) Speedway and the Freeport (IL) Raceway Park, the #99jr team was back at it again on Sunday, April 20 at the Quad City Raceway in East Moline, Illinois. Frankie won his heat race and then the dash to earn the pole position for the $5,000 to win WDRL/UMP show. He then led the stout field early on in the A-Main and was running a solid third when he wrecked hard with a lapped car. The incident relegated Frank to an eleventh place effort in the final rundown.
