FRANK, JR. FAMILY

This is a page designed to celebrate all the racing that goes on in the Heckenast family. Racing is obviously a big part of their lifestyle, either on the track or promoting a track. More family information will be added as it becomes available...

Frank Heckenast, Sr. has been driving Dirt Late Model chassis at venues across the Midwest for years. Here he is in the pit area at the Kankakee Motor Speedway in 2004. He is parked beside his daughter Sherri in the pit area.

Frank, Sr. and his wife Michelle have been an intregal part of Sherri's racing career and now Frank, Jr.'s career. Below is a picture of Frank, Sr., Michelle, and Sherri before a Dirt Late Model event.

Sherri started promoting the Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky after the Heckenast family purchased the "Taj Mahal of Dirt" in the summer of 2004. She promotes high-profile Dirt Late Model events such as: the 99 event, the Early Bird Classic, the Bluegrass Nationals, and the Commonwealth Cup. The state-of-the-art venue also holds special events for the Open Wheel Modified, Steel Block Late Model, Pure Stock, and 4-Cylinder divisions. With Sherri spending most of her time at A-Reliable Auto Parts, Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway, and the Kankakee Motor Speedway, it is now up to Frank, Sr. and Frank, Jr. to reach victory lane for the Heckenast Racing Team. Racing has been in the family's blood for years and will continue to be for years and years to come!

Frank, Jr. and his cousin, Mike Spatola III, started out in the go-kart ranks together. Below are few pictures of Frank, Jr. and Mike back in the day. Frank drove his familiar #99 and Mike in his #89. You can keep up with Mike Spatola III racing career by visiting his website at www.mikespatola.com!

Mike Spatola III now drives a #89 Open Wheel Modified chassis. Below are a couple of pictures of his modified, along with a few pictures following a big crash.
